Oracle Decks

Moonology

If you feel an affiliation with the Moon then these cards are for you. Yasmin Boland, the deck creator and author of the guidebook is an “award winning astrologer, moonologer, and bestselling author and it shows in Moonology. You can tell that she is both passionate and knowledgeable about the material she shares. The watercolour artwork is as stunning as it is soothing, making these cards feel supportive and nurturing to work with.

The Moonology Cards

As you can see, each borderless card features a beautiful image. The colour palette ranges through purples, teals, greens and blues with some muted oranges and reds for the fire signs and some gentle brown tones to represent Capricorn energy. Interestingly the other Earth signs are represented with green. As you look at the cards more details become apparent. When I first glanced at one of the new moon cards it looked like it was pretty much a black circle, but as I focused I saw the moon craters clearly and the depth of the work.

There are cards for each of the moon phases, representations for both the new and full moon for each astrological sign along with special moon cards. Each has their “moon title,” and a single line message associated with the card. The cards themselves are both beautiful and straight to the point.

Moonology comes packaged in a solid two part box that is as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. At just under 9 x 13cm the cards aren’t overly large for oracles and since there is only 44 of them they are reasonably easy to manage. The matt images are printed on thick card stock with the cycles of the moon illustrating the back.

The Moonology Book

The 119 page book is well put together. It shares the intended purpose for the deck, a history of oracle cards, and an encouragement for users to ultimately tap into their own intuition. There’s also a little bit of general information on the phases of the moon.

In the meanings section there is an image of the card, an easy to understand message, and an “Attune to the Moon” affirmation/guidance prompt, followed by additional meanings in bullet point form. Finally there’s a teaching section which highlights how the moon integrates with the card’s message.

At the back of the book they have included information on both the artist and the author including their websites and their social media, (details which I’ve included down below in the publishing details).

Spreads

Six spreads are included in the book.

  • Celtic Cross (variation -10 cards)
  • Past, present, future (3 cards)
  • New Moon Spread (3 cards)
  • Full Moon Spread (3 cards)
  • Waxing Moon (4 cards)
    • includes a sample reading
  • Waning Moon (4 cards)

Put simply, this is a gorgeous oracle deck designed to help connect you with the Ancient Feminine Wisdom of the Moon. I love it and I have no doubt I will continue to incorporate it into my readings as I find it suitable for everyone.
