    Tarot of Pagan Cats

I came to be writing about the Tarot of Pagan Cats quite by accident. Initially I was going to use it as an exemplar in a different post. But I quickly discovered that it deserved more than a secondary role in an article. I found I wanted to explore it more deeply in its own right. It has a lot to say and I like that it does it in a non-threatening yet straight to the point manner. It has been a pleasure getting to know this deck. The Tarot of Pagan Cats Cards I wrote in my first impression notes that the Tarot of Pagan Cats ‘isn’t my prettiest…

Tarot at the End of the Rainbow

Flip through the Tarot at the End of the Rainbow and you’ll discover a world inhabited by leprechauns, satyrs, faeries, and centaurs, harpies, mermaids, elves, and goblins, giants, sprites, dwarfs, and trolls, gnomes, treants and orcs. You’ll even come across a kelpie and a unicorn-centaur. So yes, there’s many magical folk to meet. Each is there to take you on an adventure but don’t be mistaken on where that may lead. It isn’t all sunshine, although there is always a rainbow. After all, there is magic to be found in the shadow as well. About the Tarot at the End of the Rainbow Deck When looking at brightly coloured cards…

    Heaven and Earth Tarot

I have to admit I put the Heaven and Earth Tarot on my wish list a while ago but it never seemed to make it to my cart. Then I saw on a Facebook page that it was going out of print so, without checking the accuracy of the statement, it became a FOMO purchase. Now, even though I haven’t come across any evidence to support the claim, I am grateful to that post because the Heaven and Earth Tarot instantly became my everyday deck. Initially I bought the card only set but I loved it so much I went and bought the kit as well. The only other deck…

    Under the Oak Tarot

With most decks I sit down to write about, the words flow naturally. That hasn’t been the case with Under the Oak Tarot. From the outset I experienced strong emotions while working with this deck but I cannot articulate clearly why that is, or was. Memories I can best describe as primal or maybe ancestral, rose within me to such an extent they brought tears to my eyes. Even the tears I cannot explain. A deep sense of relief, understanding, knowing each come to mind as possible explanations, but as much as I love words there are many experiences that are beyond them. From this you would expect Under the…

    Earth Woman Tarot

Earth Woman Tarot is one of the decks I included on my Upcoming Decks I’m Excited For list. It is one that I pre-ordered so I waited in anticipation for it to arrive. It didn’t disappoint. Tarn Ellis sought to create a deck that encapsulates the ancient wisdom of Mother Nature and the Divine Feminine. Her aim is to invite women to be unapologetically themselves. The guidebook, and much of the artwork, does indeed encourage you to take ownership of your own power. And, I found that some of the changes she’s made to the images, encourage a more nuanced way of viewing certain cards. Add in the scenically beautiful,…

    Triple Goddess Tarot

Introduction The Triple Goddess Tarot tells the story of the Divine Feminine as she moves from Maiden, through Mother to Crone before ultimately returning to Source. It is an uplifting deck that helped me to truly connect with my journey through these phases and to see them in a new light. I used this deck recently in a spread post about overcoming fear-based blocks and that process coupled with the philosophy behind this deck, has helped me see my life and myself in a new, and vastly different, way. Triple Goddess Tarot Cards The Triple Goddess Tarot seeks to act as a conduit to connect you to the triple aspects…

    Traditional Manga Tarot

Introduction I am not a manga fan. I have never read manga nor watched anime, but recently I started looking at some manga-themed decks. The Traditional Manga Tarot is the first one I have added to my collection. I saw it while watching Swimming Through the Void on YouTube. I connected with it instantly and bought it as soon as I had the chance. After two readings, done back-to-back, the Traditional Manga Tarot went straight into one of the carved wooden boxes that live on my desk. That’s the level of connection I feel with this deck. Even though I was drawn to it when I first saw it, I…

    Quantum Tarot Version 2.0

The Quantum Tarot Version 2.0 has been sitting on my shelf for a while. Recently rewatching Interstellar and reading Andy Weir’s books, The Martian and The Hail Mary Project, primed me to work with this deck. Am I normally a sci-fi person? No. But, since I was engrossed by all three, maybe I am becoming one. The fact that The Martian and Interstellar are said to be highly scientifically accurate fascinates me. So, a deck that combines modern science with tarot was bound to do the same. It did. The Cards This deck is awe-inspiring. From the immensity of galaxies to the microscopic subatomic world this deck shares information about…

    Dark Fairytale Tarot

The Dark Fairytale Tarot draws from the non-sanitised concept of the fairy tales of old. Generally with this deck you’re not going to experience Disney-esque endings. When they do appear they come with a reminder that there’s always a price to pay. And yet, even though this deck focuses on the darker side of the fae, I wouldn’t say this is a dark deck. Rather I’d say this is an honest deck that can help you to uncover and own your true ideals, or help you to recognise and acknowledge the price you pay if you ignore them. The Dark Fairytale Tarot Cards From the outset this deck is different.…

    Starman Tarot

If you like street art and David Bowie then welcome to the Starman Tarot. Or if you’re looking for creative inspiration then you may well have found a perfect match. However, if you’re looking for a RWS clone I’d suggest you keep scrolling through my reviews because this probably isn’t it. Although, if you want a tarot deck that adheres to the RWS system but shakes things up a bit, then this deck is a great option. There is nothing vanilla about this deck. Think strawberry flavoured ice cream with a rum and raison twist and a bit of lemon sorbet … then place it on a pizza. As eclectic…
