Manifesting Your Greatness
Manifesting Your Greatness is a simple, straight to the point oracle deck. Just the type of deck you want when your life, your mind, or your emotions are anything but. It’s stylised art is bright, busy without being overwhelming, whimsical, and fun. When I pull this deck off my shelf and open it up, it feels, and presents like, a little treasure trove of well-placed advice. Manifesting Your Greatness Cards Manifesting Your Greatness offers 46 cards which is similar to several of the other oracle decks in my collection. However, since I really enjoy the characters and their fresh no nonsense approach, I would like to have heard more of…

The William Blake Tarot of the Creative Imagination
The William Blake Tarot of the Creative Imagination. What a great title. Albeit from now on I am just going to refer to it as The William Blake Tarot because, well, it is quicker and easier for everyone. According to its creator, Ed Buryn, it is ‘a reimagining of William Blake’s art and ideas for modern Tarot.’ Apart from reading The Tyger at university I am not overly familiar with his ideas but I feel that is about to change. Buryn claims, ‘this 79-card deck presents William Blake’s central thesis that human creative imagination is the divine aspect of mankind,’ so I look forward to discovering his philosophy through the…

Oracle of the Radiant Sun
Having seen Oracle of the Radiant Sun on several occasions I became more and more curious about it. However, I can’t say it appealed to me. Eventually, for reasons I can’t entirely explain, I decided to purchase it anyway. The fact that The Moon Oracle, also by Caroline Smith and John Astrop, was one of my earliest decks gave me the final nudge. Unfortunately though, when it arrived and I had the chance to flick through it, I did so without any great enthusiasm. In fact I found myself thinking about options I could have added to my collection instead. In an attempt to change that I decided the Oracle…

The Shadowland Tarot
I don’t have many quirky decks. The Tarot of Curious Creatures, Nicoletta Ceccoli and Deviant Moon Tarot come to mind. But The Shadowland Tarot feels quite different. Even though Monica Bodirsky labels it a shadow deck, she doesn’t drown you in dark imagery. This deck is filled with creatures and monsters that are many things, but terrifying isn’t one of them. There’s a powerful message in that alone. We shouldn’t be frightened to explore our shadow. Therefore the intention behind The Shadowland Tarot is to encourage us to explore our shadow without fear. Monica Bodirsky wants us to befriend our “monsters” and become familiar with our own personal Shadowland. The…

Guardian Tarot
This deck, wow, I don’t know where, or how, to begin. I first saw the Guardian Tarot on You Tube and I thought hmmm creepy. But, I couldn’t stop looking at it. I found it hauntingly beautiful yet I couldn’t imagine how I could work with it. Yet, try as I might, I couldn’t turn away. So, before long it ended up doing the shopping cart dance – I put it in, I took it out, I put it in, I took it out, then finally I put it in and clicked place order. And that brings me back to wow. The Guardian Tarot speaks to me in a way…

Transparent Tarot
The Transparent Tarot (not to be confused with Universal Transparent Tarot) is remarkable. This complete re-imagining of the tarot encourages users to actually layer the cards. For example, the featured image above combines two Major Arcana cards – 14 Temperance and 20 Judgement. The depths of the insights brought to the fore are incredible. If you’re looking for a deck to inspire, spark, or assist you with your creative endeavours and take them to an entirely new level, I would say you’ve found it. As the book says, “The Transparent Tarot offers a completely fresh perspective and ways of using the cards that have never before been possible.” The Deck…

The Star Tarot (2nd Ed.)
It seems like every time I go to write a review I am always gushing about the deck. That is probably because I have done my research before buying each new set of tarot cards. If anything I have been pleasantly surprised by a deck. The Star Tarot is a perfect example. Like most of my decks I had looked at it for a while before I purchased it. I was worried it would be a bit too bright for my tastes, but it isn’t. In fact, I would say a couple of the cards in this deck are amongst my favourite in my collection. And, if I was to…
