Oracle Decks

Sacred Rebels Oracle

I love the borderless design of this stunning oracle deck that’s dedicated to people “ready to celebrate and nurture their individuality.” The Sacred Rebels Oracle aligns perfectly with why I do the work I do. This oracle set encourages you to question, to dream, and to believe. It definitely comes from a beautiful heart space and it’s sure to inspire anyone drawn to its incredible artwork.

The Sacred Rebels Oracle Deck

This 45 card Oracle deck comes in a high quality two-part box. Inside the quality continues. I love the artwork. The colour palette is muted yet still full of life. Some cards, like the ones pictured above, are predominantly grey scale with pops of colour whereas others range from softly coloured to really quite vibrant. All are beautiful. Many of the cards contain nudity but nothing that I could imagine would cause offense.

Personally, I love drawing hands so I appreciate the hand close-ups on some of the cards. Owls, bees, butterflies, fish and shells feature on several cards without dominating the deck or feeling irrelevant to the card’s message. In other words, they add something to the card rather than just serving to make the card look pretty. I have concluded this overview with a picture of the card back because it too is beautiful. It’s a brighter version of one of the cards in the deck.

Even though the Sacred Rebels Oracle is by the same creator as the Rumi Oracle, it has a totally different feel.

At 9½ x 14cm the cards are on the larger side. Even though I have large hands they’re a stretch to hold and shuffle lengthwise for overhand shuffling but they shuffle fine using other methods. The matt card stock is fairly thick and doesn’t initially fan easily. I found it definitely got easier. I know many people shuffle and then deal from the top of the pile so if that’s your method then you’ll have no issues at all.

The cards are numbered with a brief message acting as the title. For example, 23 Defend to the End, the Worthwhile which can definitely be used as a starting point for interpretation.

The Sacred Rebels Oracle Book

The 184 page, A6-sized guide book is a pleasure to read. It inspires you to pursue freedom, creativity and individuality as you live a sacred and passionate life. Sound wonderful? It is. That’s how it begins and the message continues throughout. I doubt you can read the introduction and not feel more motivated to focus on creating an authentic life full of love, passion, enthusiasm, creativity and joy. Since I am dedicated to championing this message, it’s not hard to see why this deck holds a special place in my heart.

These cards, and this book, honour creativity. Within the introduction are beautifully written sections on why we need creativity and what creative awakening offers. When someone produces a lot of decks you may question their motivations but reading this guidebook and the one that accompanies the Rumi Oracle shows that she has the purest of intentions. This is not a slapped together Oracle deck and book. If you’re looking for a bit of a nudge, it can really help get you on your way. With various suggestions on how you can use the cards you’re bound to find one that works for you.

The card meanings and messages section shows a small picture of the card along with its name and number. The message is approximately two pages long and is followed by an optional healing process. I’ve always found less is more with Oracles, in that I find working with less cards is better. A single card draw gives you time to really sit with the message and consider how it applies to you. But as always, what you do and how you do it is up to you.

Spreads

The book comes with one spread:

  • The Egg – A layout for creative inspiration and new life (6 cards)

I know I said I like to work with a single oracle card generally, but I found this to be a beautiful, powerful and inspiring spread. This aligns perfectly with how I find the deck as a whole.
