The Wandering Star Tarot
As the inside of The Wandering Star Tarot box reads, “There is a Universe inside you” and this deck wants to help you tap into it. I was fortunate enough to be gifted this deck by one of my clients. Otherwise it may never have become part of my collection. That would have been a pity because this is a deck that doesn’t overload people. The images aren’t threatening and yet they don’t shy away from the messages they need to portray. In trying to come up with a word to define this deck I would say it’s identifiable. It reminds me of a colouring book. When you think of…

The Sufi Tarot
Deck creator Ayeda Husain writes, ‘The Sufi Tarot is my way of bringing together two traditions that I love,’ and I believe she’s done an incredible job. This transformative deck views, interprets, and envisions each card through a Sufi lens and I find the two go together really well. The approach promotes the contemplative aspect of the tarot that many of us connect with. The Sufi Tarot Deck The cards remind me of the Ancestral Path Tarot but that may be more a personal connection. Although the oversized, (9 x 12.5cm), thick, matt cardstock and the borderless images might have something to do with it. Even though I didn’t know…

The Tarot of Curious Creatures
The Tarot of Curious Creatures is creator, Chris-Anne’s, latest offering. In this deck she ‘welcome[s] [you] to the world of curious creatures, peculiar guides and unfamiliar familiars.’ I have to admit it took me a while to decide I wanted to enter this world. But, now that I have, I can’t see why I hesitated. It’s different and I like different. Although the meanings align with traditional RWS expectations, this deck has a unique way of communicating them. For those interested in pathworking this deck is well worth a look. The attached guidebook encourages you to adopt this practice. Although, somewhat unsurprisingly, it’s pathworking with a twist. The Tarot of…

The Rose Oracle
I saw The Grandmothers card on You Tube and, quite unexpectedly, it connected me with an aspect of myself I had buried. It’s The Rose Oracle that urged me to connect with the Divine Feminine. Prior to reading the companion book I had no idea why. The second verse of the Rose Oracle Attunement, that comes printed both on a card and within the guidebook, explains the intention behind The Rose Oracle and helped me recognise why it called to me so strongly. It aligns with my personal intention. ‘May it be a gateway for all to return to ourselves, the Earth, and each other. May our connection with the…

The Muse Tarot
As it’s name suggests The Muse Tarot aims to connect you with your Muse in order to spark and inspire creativity. It’s also a reminder that creative endeavours open up this connection. Above all it’s a bright, colourful, eclectic deck that speaks on many different levels. Even though I love The Light Seers Tarot by the same creator, I wasn’t overly drawn to The Muse Tarot when I first saw it online. But, something made me buy it anyway and I haven’t looked back. I like it so much more than I expected. In fact it drew me into its world on my very first flick through. For some reason…

The Sacred Creators Oracle
I’m surprised it took me this long to come to this deck. As a creative who loves words it’s a perfect match. Fortunately I discovered it by chance on You Tube but to be honest, initially it was the accompanying book that caught my attention. I didn’t realise when I bought The Sacred Creators Oracle for myself that the book I saw only came with the Kickstarter version. So, I was a tad disappointed. After an unsuccessful search online I returned to my deck and discovered I shouldn’t have been so impatient. If I’d just pulled my cards out of the box before I reacted, I would have discovered the…

Animal Kin Oracle
From the moment I saw the Animal Kin Oracle deck I was drawn into its beautiful imagery. It feels peaceful and soothing which encourages you to tap into your intuition with confidence. Animals don’t overthink things, and when working intuitively neither should we. I would say that just as the creator envisioned, this collection of watercolour animal portraits can help reconnect people with the natural world. Today I worked with this deck alongside the Guardian Tarot and I can honestly say together they have changed my focus. The Animal Kin Oracle Deck This is a well-produced, 65 card, oracle deck that is perfect for anyone drawn to animal-themed cards. It…

Angels and Ancestors Oracle
The Angels and Ancestors Oracle packaging claims that it incorporates Celtic, Native American, Aboriginal and Earth-based Spiritualities in an attempt to cross any divide between cultures. However, I believe aligning with the message you discover inside the box once the cards are removed, which reads: I set the intention that whatever is gained from the lessons learned from this tool will be dedicated to the growth of all beings in all places is a positive way forward that can connect everyone. I am really drawn to ancestral work of late. Currently, I am slowly working my way through Ancestral Tarot by Nancy Hendrickson. If you’re interested in doing the same,…

The Universe Has Your Back
The Universe Has Your Back is a 52 card message deck designed to help you open up to the power of the Universe. Since I’m a lettering geek and I love words The Universe Has Your Back seemed like a perfect match for me. But as my main focus is tarot they have sat around for a while. To be honest at first I found them a bit syrupy, and potentially a little disempowering. However, recently I pulled them out to accompany a reading and found they added a depth to my interpretation. This helped me to connect with them and to understand them more. When I considered the tarot…

Moonology
If you feel an affiliation with the Moon then these cards are for you. Yasmin Boland, the deck creator and author of the guidebook is an “award winning astrologer, moonologer, and bestselling author and it shows in Moonology. You can tell that she is both passionate and knowledgeable about the material she shares. The watercolour artwork is as stunning as it is soothing, making these cards feel supportive and nurturing to work with. The Moonology Cards As you can see, each borderless card features a beautiful image. The colour palette ranges through purples, teals, greens and blues with some muted oranges and reds for the fire signs and some gentle…
